Our Senior Leadership Team


Deputy Principal - Lou Reddy
Lou is the Deputy Principal of Wesley Intermediate School, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and also in charge of delivering Positive Behavior for Learning (PB4L) school wide. Lou has taught at Wesley Intermediate for the last five years and comes from a Sales and Marketing background in the NGO sector. The school is also a Central Auckland PB4L cluster lead school -with Lou being the Coach/facilitator. Lou is the current convener of the Project PETER - collective in the Puketapapa community. 
Lou is keen to discuss community links, behaviour and learning support needs with parents and caregivers.

Senior Teacher - Simon Tafea

Simon Tafea is very excited to be teaching the fantastic E-Learning Power Hive class of Room 9.  

This is his first year teaching at Wesley Intermediate school.  Over the past 10 years he has taught at Ranui Primary, Sunnyvale and Bruce Mclaren Intermediate.  He also spent two years teaching over in Malaysia at a International school as a teacher and sports director.

This year he has taken on the role of Senior teacher and sports co-ordinator.
One of his goals this year is to establish a sports academy for the school. He is looking forward to working with the fantastic staff and community of Wesley Intermediate and hopes to build and develop students learning and sporting achievements

Teacher - Andy Crowe
This is Andy's first year at Wesley Intermediate School and he is passionate about digital learning school wide and in room 8. Andy
 is the leader of the ICT within Wesley Intermediate School and also a classroom teacher in Room 8. He is also the school workshop teacher. Andy also leads Inquiry and social sciences in the school. He is passionate about using technology to turn every student at Wesley Intermediate School into confident, curious, and audacious problem solvers through making, building and designing innovative solution

Teacher- Michelle Siaoloa
This is Michelle's third year at Wesley Intermediate.  She is the teacher in Room 3 and also teaches Visual Art to the school. Michelle has travelled and taught overseas and is also passionate about coaching Netball. She is currently the head coach and co-ordinator for our Netball teams and helps facilitate the year 8 school graduation dinner.  Michelle helps with Pasifika culture groups and girls welfare at Wesley Intermediate School.

Teacher- Gaewyn Haioti
Gaewyn is in her second year at Wesley Intermediate and she is also co leader of the Science curriculum delivery and Room 5 teacher. Gaewyn is also passionate about coaching girls sports including Rugby. She is currently one of the co-leader of girls sports, Pasifika culture groups and the Year 8 Graduation committee. Gaewyn also is the driver of the school van and in charge of girls welfare at Wesley Intermediate School.

Teacher - Taryn Furnell
Taryn is the leader for Te Reo Maori Curriculum delivery and Room 11 teacher. She has also traveled the world and brings a wealth of experience from teaching overseas. She has recently graduated from the University of Auckland and is very keen to help support E-learning in the school. Taryn is an excellent new addition to our school staff, having completed her graduate placement through Wesley Intermediate School. 

Mrs Furnell is currently on maternity leave.

Teacher - Clare Brink
Clare Brink is an experienced NZ teacher, she brings a wide array of qualities to Wesley intermediate. Clare has worked at Koru School, Waikowhai Intermediate and Orewa College where she worked extensively in Pastoral care of year ⅞ students as a Dean and worked as a sports coordinator. Clare brings knowledge of E learning in middle school upto NCEA in the classroom & will be teaching in room 11 covering Taryn while she is on Maternity leave.

Technology Specialist- Maureen Dunne
Mrs Dunne is a long serving staff member and Head of Department for technology curriculum delivery. She is in charge of Food and Fabric tech and graphics curriculum delivery. Mrs Dunne is also a member of the Graduation Committee, school costumes and supports the pastoral care of our students as well. Mrs Dunne is passionate about students achieving their goals and helping them overcome barriers to their education.

Property Manager and PE specialist - Trevor Ball

Trev Ball is fully involved in the Sports and Physical Education programme at Wesley Intermediate School. He is a Life Member of Auckland Primary Schools Rugby. He is the Convener of Central Zone Rugby, Tag and Rugby League tournaments. He also is the Convener of Auckland Inter-Zone Rugby Tournament.
Trev Ball is also the Leader of the Property & Health and Safety Team. He works alongside an awesome team of contractors and staff to help make the school a safe environment to educate our students.

Our awesome Admin, Support, property staff and external agencies

Office Manager - Nicole Maeli
Mrs Maeli is the office manager in charge of school wide administration. She works alongside the SLT, finance team and all other staff in order to maintain efficiency our school wider admin. Mrs Maeli is also in charge of the school sick bay and is also the Privacy officer.

Office support- Vaeani Vaeonga
Vaeni is one of our long serving support staff and helps with sick bay, office adminstration, tuck shop and uniforms.

Finance team - Halina and Lata
Halina and Lata run our finance department and make sure all the schools financial needs are documents and well reported. 

School cleaners - Miss Hill and Mr Morris
Miss Hill and Mr Morris work very hard to keep the school very clean and tidy. They have also been on the schools staff for a number of years and contribute to the on going property maintenance of the school. 

SENCO team - 
Social Worker
Isabella Mirzaabbasi  is our social worker in schools (SWIS).  I am employed by Child & Youth team, Community Child Health & Disability service Auckland District Health Board.  My role is to help children and families in any ways we can to reach their maximum potential in health, education and socially.  Please contact me via school or on 021685057.

Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour 
Ina van Schalkwyk - RTLB Cluster 7 : Ina is our school RTLB liason and supports the learning and behaviour planning with staff and school SENCO

Public Health Nurse
Jenae Valk is our Public health nurse and is also based at the Mana Health Clinic at Wesley Primary - she is here to support students with Rheumatic fever prevention/monitoring. Please see her timetable at the office if you need support for your child's health needs.
