At Wesley Intermediate School we pride ourselves on being able to offer all learners the support they need. Our Learning Hub sits at the very heart of our learning support programmes. As students join us we strive to meet their individual learning needs in classrooms. However, at times this is not possible and our incredible learning support team and Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) construct individualised learning programmes to help our students become the very best they can be. Whether this is one to one or small groups, students are able to spend dedicated time with trained and skilled professional support staff, developing both academically and emotionally in a safe and comfortable space.
Our passionate and dedicated learning support staff work closely with students and whānau to put the student at the very heart of their own learning. This may include face to face meetings, regular contact electronically, systematic sharing of progress and learning or a combination of these elements. Like their teachers, the learning support team are driven by a desire to make a difference for each and every learner they interact with.
